Stealth Frame
A Project From 2017
I HAVE A SMALL COLLECTION of figurine and plush octopi and a silly “Beware of Octopus” sign I found on Amazon. (You can find a “Beware of Just-About-Anything” sign on Amazon.)
I bolted the sign to a panel of poplar, which then needed a leg to hold it upright. The word “stealth” occurred to me because the leg I came up with reminded me of the wing of an autonomous stealth aircraft my friend, Robert, worked with. The leg’s shape emerged simply from flipping pieces of wood around to find a way to avoid having to glue endgrain to the load-bearing joint.
