Eurorack Case

ONCE I DECIDED to take the plunge with Eurorack, I needed a case. They’re sized with the same unit of measure (horizontal pitch - hp) as scientific instrument and computer racks. I was setting up a relatively small system, so I settled on 104hp, the width of a 23 inch instrument rack. There are many to choose from commercially, but I figured I could make my own for about the same cost as a commercial unit or maybe even a little less if I was careful.

It's a simple ¼ inch birch plywood laser cut box. I used TipTop Z rails and found some nice black screws to attach the rails to the box. There is a bit of graphics laser etched into the front of the case. Neither the design nor the execution of the graphics put me in a state of awe, but … they’re okay.
