IMAGINE YOURSELF pronouncing the word “vase” with a nasal, blue-blood accent. This will emphasize the absurdity of identifying this object as if it were some Antiques Roadshow Extraordinary Find — because it’s just a wooden box. The variegation of the poplar is nice, though.
This wood vase replaced an interesting, crackle glaze ceramic vase of similar proportions that had fallen to its death.
