Some History

According to the Wayback Machine at Archive.org, we published content on the Internet under our domain name as long ago as April of 2001. The earliest stuff looks kind of primitive. I was still getting the hang of creating web pages and I was an even worse graphic designer than I am now.

In 2003, I decided to put a concerted effort into creating a family website that looked as professional as I could possibly make it. By then, I had been working as an "Internet Specialist" (whatever that means) at the Department of Agriculture for a few years. We had just been tasked with rebuilding our Agency's web site to adhere to the new Administration's style guide. I really did not like the new design, but apparently, it had more influence on me than I wanted to admit. At one point I was bemoaning the design at work when my boss responded, “why are you bitching about it, your personal site looks just like it!" Well … not JUST like it!
